For help navigating Interlibrary Loans (ILLs), contact Andy Curry at illnshk@ukings.ca.
**This service is available only to current King's students, staff and faculty.
Community borrowers are encouraged to connect with the public library, which has similar services available to their patrons.
If King's Library doesn't have access to something you're looking for, we can request it for you from any library in the world.
The first step is checking the Novanet Catalogue to see if it's available to borrow directly.
If not, follow the directions on our Interlibrary Loans and Document Delivery page to fill out an Interlibrary Loan request.
The National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) is a free, public library-owned and operated service that connects Canadians with print disabilities to accessible materials. (What is a print disability?)
Novanet has partnered with NNELS to provide staff, students, and faculty of Nova Scotia post-secondary institutions access to the NNELS collection. When you register with your home library, you will be granted access to download books and other materials in a variety of formats.
To register for NNELS with King's Library, you must currently be a King's student, staff or faculty. (Community borrowers can register through the public library system.)
Contact Library Staff to self-declare verbally
Or email library@ukings.ca with a completed Self-Declaration Form (attached below).
Library Staff will then register you as a NNELS user.
*Student Assistants who cover the desk evenings and weekends are not able to register patrons for NNELS.*
After you have been registered as NNELS user through King's, you will sign up for an account.
NNELS will confirm your registration with King's Library before activating your account.
You should be able to log into your account the day after you create your account. If it has been 3 business days since you've created your account and you're still not able to log in, please reach out to library@ukings.ca for assistance.
Once NNELS activates your account, you can access and request materials on the NNELS website without having to go through the King's Library.
Sign into your NNELS account. (Your username is your library barcode. Please ask the circulation desk if you don't have the correct barcode.)
